Local’s Guide to the Best Restaurants in Grand Junction, Colorado

Welcome to your local’s guide to the best restaurants in Grand Junction, Colorado. I’ve dined out regularly during the 6+ years that I’ve lived in Grand Junction, for everything from date nights, to family brunches, to work dinners. All of the restaurants in this guide are places that I’ve eaten at multiple times and would recommend to friends and family.

For being a relatively small city, I think Grand Junction has a pretty solid restaurant scene. While you won’t find new award-winning restaurants opening every weekend, there are tons of great options that can become your mainstays. This guide features what I would consider to be the best restaurants in Grand Junction, including the best breakfast and brunch spots, best dinner spots, best breweries, best pizza and takeout spots, and the best coffee, bakery, and dessert spots.

Please keep in mind that the “best” restaurants are going to be subjective. These are all restaurants that I personally love, but there are still quite a few restaurants around Grand Junction that I haven’t been to. If your favorite isn’t included, leave a comment so I can check it out!

Best Breakfast & Brunch Restaurants in Grand Junction

1. Cafe Sol

My number one go-to weekend brunch spot in Grand Junction is Cafe Sol. Located downtown on Main Street, Cafe Sol sources most of its organic ingredients locally and serves up a variety of fresh and tasty plates, including lots of vegetarian options. In addition to their weekend brunch menu, Cafe Sol also has a lunch menu during the week that features sandwiches and salads.

2. Main Street Bagels

For the best bagels in western Colorado, head to Main Street Bagels in downtown Grand Junction. They make all of their bagels in-house, and as an ex-New Yorker I can say they’re legit. My go-to order is a toasted crunch bagel with butter, while my husband is a huge fan of their cinnamon rolls. Main Street Bagels is closed on Sundays, so if you go on a Saturday morning prepare for a line!

3. Dream Cafe

If you’re looking for a classic brunch spot with a whole menu of mimosas on tap, then head to Dream Cafe. Located on Main Street in downtown Grand Junction, Dream Cafe is one of the most popular restaurants in town for a brunch date.

I highly recommend the cinnamon roll French toast for a delicious start to your day. It’s as decadent as it sounds, and comes with eggs and potatoes, so it’s the perfect meal for brunch if you want something salty and sweet.

4. Ocotillo

Located inside of the Redlands Mesa Golf Club, Ocotillo has arguably the best patio views in Grand Junction. While Ocotillo serves dinner every day of the week, its weekend brunch can’t be missed. With menu items like hot honey chicken and waffles, and eggs benedict, you can enjoy a delicious brunch with amazing views.

5. Alarado Biscuit Company

Located inside of a food truck next to the Mesa Mall, the Alarado Biscuit Company serves up a delicious brunch menu with fried chicken and waffles, biscuit sandwiches, and more. It’s a great option for breakfast on the go if you’re looking for something hearty and delicious.

6. Spoons Bistro & Bakery

Spoons Bistro & Bakery is located inside the Hope West Hospice Center, but is open to the public to dine. It’s a counter-service restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating, and a robust breakfast and weekend brunch menu. I recommend getting the French toast, which comes with cinnamon honey butter.

7. Devil’s Kitchen

Located on the top floor of the Hotel Maverick, Devil’s Kitchen is one of Grand Junction’s tastiest upscale restaurants with a patio that offers some of the best views in town. Whenever my husband and I have guests visiting from out of town, this is where we take them. The menu changes seasonally and features a wide variety of cuisines. If you have a sweet tooth, you have to order the bananas foster for dessert, which is cooked table side.

*Note: I have been hosted for dinner at Devil’s Kitchen before, but I have also dined there on my own numerous times!

Did You Know? Devil’s Kitchen is named after a popular hiking trail in Colorado National Monument!

If you’re looking for a trendy and upscale restaurant that you would expect to find in a major city, then check out Bin 707 Foodbar. Located on Main Street in downtown Grand Junction, Bin 707 serves up a seasonal menu featuring local ingredients and creative flavor combinations. In addition to a robust drink menu, Bin also offers a variety of mocktails, including a nonalcoholic espresso martini, and my personal favorite, the sage sour.

9. Ristorante Pantusso

There are a few tasty Italian restaurants around Grand Junction, but my personal favorite is Ristorante Pantusso. They recently moved locations to the Redlands and the new restaurant is everything you would want from a friendly neighborhood Italian joint. I’m not joking when I say that Pantusso’s has the best pesto that I’ve ever tasted, so I highly recommend getting the build your own pasta.

10. Suehiro Japanese Restaurant & Sushi

Located on Main Street in downtown Grand Junction, Suehiro is easily the best Japanese and sushi restaurant in town. Everything is made fresh and is packed with flavor. The interior of the restaurant is dim, which makes it a great date night location. Suehiro’s often has a wait for dinner, but the food is definitely worth it.

Handlebar is located right down the road from the popular Lunch Loops, which has some of the best mountain biking and hiking trails in Grand Junction, so it’s the perfect stop for a post-ride burger and brew. Order at the counter and find a seat inside or upstairs on the rooftop patio. My ideal post-hike meal is a grilled chicken sandwich, so I’m a big fan of the build your own option at Handlebar.

15. Pablo’s Pizza

If you don’t want to go all the way to Fruita to get pizza, Pablo’s Pizza is the local Grand Junction pizza joint that I visit most frequently. They have a variety of unique pies, like the Brie-yonce, Thai-ger Heat, and Spudstacular!, or you can build your own pizza. I personally love adding a pesto swirl to my pizza to add some more flavor.

16. EC’s Asian Station

For the best Chinese takeout in Grand Junction head to EC’s Asian Station. While EC’s Asian Station is pricier than other Chinese restaurants in Grand Junction, the food is fresh and made to order. 19. Sweet Coloradough

Originally based in Glenwood Springs, this iconic Colorado doughnut shop has officially opened its doors in Grand Junction and I couldn’t be more excited. Sweet Coloradough is best known for its square cronuts, which are a cross between a croissant and a doughnut. They are currently only open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, but hopefully they’ll be open more frequently as community support grows.
